Democrats are pushing mid-decade redistricting in Virginia as a naked partisan power grab to flip seats and lock in a 10-1 congressional advantage before 2026. It’s deeply unfair because it trashes the 2020 voter-approved anti-gerrymandering reforms, ignores communities of interest, and invites endless future retaliation that undermines fair elections.

Felon Voting Rights

The 2026 Virginia ballot amendment would make voting a fundamental right and automatically restore felons' voting rights immediately upon release from prison—no petitions, no Governor approval, no proof of rehabilitation required.

Unrestricted Abortion Access

The 2026 Virginia ballot amendment would enshrine a "fundamental right to reproductive freedom" in the Constitution, protecting nearly unrestricted abortion access with only limited third-trimester restrictions. It overrides common-sense regulations like parental involvement for minors and health/safety standards, while preventing future legislatures from enacting protections for unborn life or additional late-term limits.
